Local Wonder-Fresh Remodel-Amazing Quality (Flushing, MI)

Travel Agents tend to explore all over the world.  But sometimes, the most unique, and special places are right in your own back yard. Tucked away in a little town called Flushing, MI is a restaurant that just completed not only a name change, but a major remodel of this local historic treasure.

Introducing Madison’s on Main, sitting at 126 E. Main Street in the heart of downtown Flushing is this local small restaurant and bar owned by Madison Bree Thomas. Bree has spent the last month completing a major remodel of the customer areas in the restaurant. Out with the old carpet and old booths and in with fresh paint, new lighting, beautiful hardwood floors and, of course, the new name.

Tonight, our team had the honor to attend the soft opening of the newly remodeled and retooled restaurant. From the moment you walk into the restaurant, you feel welcomed like you are walking into someone’s family home. The new hardwood floors give a fresh and clean look throughout. The booths are comfortable and relaxing. The lighting has been upgraded so you can actually see the person sitting across from you and enjoy your meal. The slogan on the wall reads “Casual Fine Dining” and it could not be any more accurate.

Tonight’s new menu featured classic dishes that the community know and love, but also many new featured items that bring the owner’s heart into the restaurant. This agent tried a classic appetizer, chicken tenders and a more unique appetizer, fried eggplant. While the classic chicken tenders seemed like a simple easy dish, Madison’s on Main elevated it to be more flavor than anyone can expect in a chicken tender. The batter was full of flavor and crunch and the sauce paring were amazing. Then we jumped to a level of elevated fine dining that isn’t commonly found in Flushing, MI. A fried Eggplant appetizer that left us wanting more topped anything I have found in Flushing or even a nearby town. The creamy sauce on the top gave each bite a special flavor. It was even served with small bread chips to enjoy each bit of the sauce.

Moving on to the Entree, the owner has spent a great deal of time shopping for the best steaks around. This Ribeye did not disappoint. The aging, the tenderness of the steak, and the flavor was better than almost every single steakhouse we have attended in years. The steak was cooked perfectly as requested and topped with a rosemary butter. The side choices were excellent, we opted for the premium side and did Brussel Sprouts, which were cooked perfectly.

If you are stopping through town or visiting this local town, we highly recommend stopping in for a quick lunch or an elevated dinner at Madison’s on Main. Simply located right in the heart of downtown Flushing, you can park on Main St. or park in the city lot behind the restaurant. During the summer months, you can choose to dine inside or outside on the patio. We are so incredibly proud of Bree for elevating this classic and historic hometown restaurant into something that she can be totally proud of and can finally call it her own!

The official opening date for Madison’s on Main will be Sunday November 9th, 2025. Don’t forget to stop in and say Hi.

While you are there, make sure to stop by this special photo on the wall. This man, Randy, happens to be the father of Madison Bree Thomas. He not only supported her passion to own this resturant, but he also loved to support his community. Right along with this remodel, Bree has officially launched the Renovation Randy Foundation.

The Renovation Randy Foundation is dedicated to continuing the work of Randy Thomas, offering no or low cost home renovations for those in need. We continue his work to honor all he stood for, with a side of smack talk and a loving smile.
