There’s plenty to watch in this week’s cruise news, and a few booking windows are closing soon. Norwegian Cruise Line has moved up the debut of its largest ship, Holland America has opened new 2027 Oosterdam voyages, and Princess Cruises is advertising up to $600 in instant savings on select cruises.
If you’re dreaming about luxury Mediterranean cruises or Caribbean vacation deals, this is a good time to look ahead. The best cabin choices on popular 2027 itineraries can go early, and a fare that looks simple at first may come with important eligibility rules. Here’s the friendly-neighbor rundown, with the deadlines and fine print in plain English.
Norwegian Cruise Line: Norwegian Aura arrives early
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has moved the debut of Norwegian Aura up to May 2, 2027-19 days earlier than planned, after an early shipyard delivery. Two inaugural Mediterranean sailings are now open for booking.
The first is a 10-day cruise departing Trieste, Italy, for Athens (Piraeus), Greece. Its itinerary includes Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia, Bar in Montenegro, and Corfu, Santorini and Mykonos. A second sailing departs Athens on May 12 and returns to Trieste.
That’s a tempting route if you want a first look at the new ship alongside a good mix of Adriatic and Greek Island ports. You can review the sailing details in NCL’s announcement.
NCL’s Fall Flash Sale advertises 50% off cruise fares, and a separate offer provides up to $750 in onboard credit on select sailings. One important distinction: NCL’s published terms say the 50% offer excludes inaugural sailings, and the onboard credit is limited to eligible ships, sail dates and cabin categories. So don’t assume either offer applies to the first Norwegian Aura voyages, or that both stack on one booking. Check the price and eligible perks for your exact sailing before you decide.
Pro Tip: A headline “up to $750” is the maximum, not a standard credit for every cabin. NCL’s terms tie the amount to cruise length and stateroom category; for example, the maximum is for qualifying 10-night-or-longer Haven bookings. Its onboard-credit booking window currently ends October 12. Check NCL’s offer terms before you put down a deposit.
Holland America: five new Oosterdam voyages for 2027
Holland America Line has opened bookings for five additional Oosterdam voyages following the ship’s “Evolution” transformation. The first post-refit voyage departs October 31, 2027: a 10-day Adriatic Antiquities cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Trieste.
After that, Oosterdam is scheduled to sail from Trieste to Athens, Athens to Barcelona, Barcelona across the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale, and then on an 11-day Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale departing December 11. That sequence makes this news worth a look whether Europe is your jam or you’re eyeing a warm-weather escape later in the year.
The transformation is part of Holland America’s larger fleet investment. The cruise line says Oosterdam will have new stateroom and suite categories, a Grand Dutch Café, and a redesigned Ocean Bar. Read the full itinerary details in Holland America’s voyage announcement.

The Have It All Early Booking Bonus is another detail to check while planning. For eligible cruises, it bundles shore excursion credit, specialty dining, upgraded Wi-Fi and an Elite Beverage Package. Holland America lists up to $300 in shore excursion credit per guest, plus three nights of specialty dining, prepaid crew appreciation and a $99 deposit on select 2027 cruises. The offer runs through November 2, 2026.
And here’s the thing: the voyage needs to meet the offer’s eligibility rules. Ask whether the specific Oosterdam sailing you’re considering qualifies, and compare the total fare with and without the package. See Holland America’s Have It All offer and terms.
Princess Cruises: up to $600 in savings, and a new planning app
Princess Cruises is promoting up to $600 in instant savings per stateroom on select voyages, with a booking deadline of November 5, 2026. The savings vary by sailing and stateroom category, so the full $600 won’t apply to every cruise. Check the fare details for your dates, cabin and guests in Princess’ cruise deals section.
Princess has also launched an AI-powered cruise-planning app in ChatGPT, which the company describes as the first native large language model app from a global cruise line. You can use natural-language requests to browse itineraries, compare ships, explore ports and shore excursion ideas, and check pricing and availability. It can be handy for testing the waters, though I’d still confirm the final itinerary and fare before booking.

Explore the new tool in Princess’ AI planning app announcement. It may help you narrow the options; it doesn’t replace checking what’s actually included in your chosen fare.
More cruise deals to check before they expire
If you’re shopping for cruise deals 2026, put these dates on your calendar:
- Celebrity Cruises Exciting Deals, through October 12: Select sailings are offered at cruise-only rates or with an “All Included” option that bundles a Classic Drinks Package and Basic Wi-Fi. Availability and cabin eligibility vary. Review the official offer details.
- Royal Caribbean Mega Flash Deals, through October 13: This short booking window features discounted pricing on listed sailings. The offer includes select 2027 cruises, with sample itineraries from Florida and a Greek Isles voyage from Ravenna. Check the Mega Flash Deals sailings and prices.
- Royal Caribbean’s 60% off the second guest, free third and fourth guests, and Kids Sail Free offers, through November 2: These apply to eligible bookings and sailings. Taxes, fees and port expenses still apply, and Kids Sail Free has blackout dates. Read the Royal Caribbean promotion terms and check your family’s specific sailing.

Quick myth-buster: “Free” guests and “all included” packages don’t necessarily mean every trip cost is covered. Port charges, taxes, gratuities, flights, hotels and transfers may be separate. A cruise fare and a complete vacation package are two different totals, so compare what you’ll pay from home to ship and back.
Booking early: helpful, not a promise
Many 2027 Mediterranean and Caribbean itineraries are opening now. Booking earlier gives you more time to compare routes and may give you a wider choice of cabin locations and categories. It doesn’t guarantee the lowest possible fare, but waiting can mean your favorite date or stateroom is no longer available.
I know that choosing among similar routes and promotions can feel like a lot. When you’re comparing cruises, focus first on the sailing dates, ports, total fare and what’s included. Then check flights, pre-cruise hotel nights and shore excursions. Our shore excursion page is a handy starting point for planning port days.
Pro Tip: Book with an agency when you want a second set of eyes. We can help compare cruise lines, cabins and promotion terms, and coordinate cruise arrangements with flights, hotels, rental cars or a custom vacation package. That personal help can save you time versus juggling tabs on big travel websites, especially when several offers have different deadlines.
