Cruise News & Deals: Norwegian Aura’s Mediterranean Debut, Princess Returns to the Amazon, and Big Fall Savings

Cruise news and deals for Wednesday, October 14, 2026

There’s plenty for cruise lovers to get excited about this week: new Mediterranean voyages, a transformed Holland America ship, Princess Cruises’ return to the Amazon, and fall promotions with deadlines coming up fast.

Here’s the thing: a big advertised discount doesn’t always apply to every sailing, cabin or traveler. I’ve seen how easy it is to get lost in the fine print when you’re comparing options. So I’ve pulled together the key details, and the booking dates worth circling.

Cruise news: New itineraries and milestone seasons

Norwegian Aura adds two Mediterranean debuts

Norwegian Cruise Line has opened bookings for two inaugural Mediterranean voyages aboard Norwegian Aura, its newest and largest ship. The sailings are scheduled before the ship’s Caribbean season:

  • May 2, 2027: A 10-day voyage from Trieste to Athens, with stops including Dubrovnik, Split, Bar, Corfu, Santorini and Mykonos.
  • May 12, 2027: A nine-day voyage from Athens to Trieste, visiting destinations that include Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini, Corfu, Bar, Split and Zadar.

If your idea of a great trip is a mix of Greek islands and historic Adriatic ports, these could be your jam. Read Norwegian Cruise Line’s announcement for the itinerary details.

Norwegian Luna is sailing from PortMiami

Norwegian Luna’s inaugural Caribbean season from Miami is underway, with itineraries calling at destinations such as Puerto Plata, St. Thomas and Great Stirrup Cay. Later sailings shift to Western Caribbean ports including Roatán, Cozumel and Harvest Caye.

One helpful clarification: Luna’s Miami cruises were opened for sale earlier, so this isn’t a brand-new booking launch this week. But if you’re looking at a Miami departure, you can still check Norwegian Luna’s cruise details. And if you’re flying in from Michigan, remember to plan your Detroit-to-Miami travel as part of the trip, not as an afterthought.

Oosterdam returns after its “Evolution” transformation

Holland America Line has opened bookings for five new voyages aboard Oosterdam after its planned transformation. The first post-transformation sailing departs October 31, 2027: a 10-day Adriatic Antiquities cruise from Rome to Trieste.

The four voyages that follow include more Adriatic and Mediterranean itineraries, a transatlantic crossing, and an 11-day Caribbean cruise departing Fort Lauderdale on December 11. New features are expected to include updated staterooms and public spaces, a Grand Dutch Café and a redesigned Ocean Bar.

A Pan Am-inspired 28-day Caribbean voyage

For a longer trip with a little travel history woven in, Holland America and Pan Am are marking Pan Am’s 100th anniversary with a 28-day roundtrip cruise from Miami aboard Zuiderdam. It departs October 30, 2027, calling at ports across the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.

Themed experiences are planned to evoke the golden age of travel, with Pan Am-inspired dining, speakers and shore experiences. Get a closer look at the Pan Am and Holland America voyage.

Holland America looks ahead to 80 years in Alaska

After a successful 2026 Alaska season, Holland America is preparing for its 80th year exploring Alaska in 2027. Six ships are scheduled to sail from Seattle, Vancouver and Whittier between April and September.

The anniversary season is expected to bring special onboard experiences and new ways to explore the Great Land. One standout is a new eight-day Alaska Inside Passage cruise, with calls that include Glacier Bay, Skagway, Ketchikan and Prince Rupert. Princess Cruises returns to the Amazon

Princess Cruises’ 2028–2029 Americas season includes more than 250 departures and a welcome return to Amazon River cruising. The first since 2014. The new lineup also features a 64-day Circle South America voyage aboard Coral Princess, combining Antarctica, the Amazon and the Panama Canal.

That’s a big, bucket-list kind of itinerary. The program spans the Americas, but booking dates can differ by itinerary; confirm availability for the specific voyage you have in mind. Explore the 2028–2029 Princess Americas announcement.

Cruise deals: Three offers to check now

Princess Cruises Fall Savings: through November 5

Princess Cruises’ Fall Savings sale advertises:

  • Up to 45% off cruise fares
  • Up to $450 instant savings in the main offer
  • $99 deposits
  • Free fares for the third and fourth guests on select voyages

Savings can vary by stateroom, cruise length and eligibility. Princess’s offer table lists different instant-savings amounts by cabin category and sailing length, so check the terms for your exact cruise. Taxes and fees still apply to free third- and fourth-guest fares.

The sale is scheduled to run through November 5, 2026. See the Princess Fall Savings details.

Norwegian Cruise Line: 50% off fares ends October 16

Norwegian Cruise Line’s promotion offers 50% off cruise fares on open-for-sale sailings when booked by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on October 16. That’s Friday, so if you’ve been testing the waters, now’s a good time to check the itinerary and cabin you want.

One important catch: the terms exclude inaugural sailings. Don’t assume this offer applies to Norwegian Aura’s inaugural Mediterranean cruises or other inaugural voyages. Review the official Norwegian promotion terms before booking.

CruiseFirst: $500 future-cruise credit for $250

Norwegian’s CruiseFirst program lets eligible travelers purchase a $500 future-cruise credit for $250. This offer is advertised through October 15. Because that deadline is tomorrow, and time-sensitive offers can change, confirm it’s still available before you buy.

The credit is subject to conditions, including eligible voyage length and how far out the cruise departs. See the CruiseFirst program details and terms.

Holland America: Save on Sunshine

Holland America’s Save on Sunshine promotion offers up to 50% off select tropical cruise fares, plus up to $200 onboard credit per stateroom. It applies to select sailings, and the offer page says it ends October 21.

And honestly? A sale headline is a starting point, not the whole price. Fare rules, cabin choices, taxes, port expenses and optional extras can all affect what you pay.

Pro Tip: Compare the whole vacation, not just the cruise fare

When I first started comparing cruise options, it was easy to focus on the fare and forget the rest of the trip. For you, the full picture might include flights, a hotel before embarkation, transfers, shore excursions or a post-cruise stay.

Pro Tip: We can help you compare cruise options and plan the pieces around them, so your vacation package fits your schedule, comfort and budget. That personal help can save you time sorting through the fine print and booking sites on your own.
