Here’s the thing: the best offer is not always the lowest headline price. You also need to look at the ship, the ports, the included perks, the deposit, and how easy it will be to manage the trip from start to finish.

I’ve rounded up the biggest cruise news we are watching here at ITS Travel Services in Flushing, Michigan, so you can see what may be worth your attention before cabins and preferred sailing dates disappear.

Norwegian Cruise Line: New Ships, Big Itinerary Choices, and Free at Sea

Norwegian Cruise Line is putting plenty of attention on its 2026–27 deployment, with more than 400 new voyages announced across multiple regions.

The newest ships getting a lot of attention are Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna.

Both ships are featured heavily in Norwegian’s Caribbean and Bahamas plans, with sailings from convenient ports such as Miami and Port Canaveral. Depending on the itinerary, travelers may visit destinations including:

• Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas
• Harvest Caye in Belize
• Cozumel
• Costa Maya
• Roatán
• Puerto Plata
• St. Thomas

Norwegian Luna is especially interesting for travelers who like flexibility. There is no traditional fixed dining schedule, and you can build your days around your own plans (that’s travel-agent-speak for less rushing and fewer “we have to be there at 6:15” moments).

Norwegian Aqua also offers newer onboard attractions, restaurants, and entertainment spaces. If you are looking for a modern ship with plenty to do without committing to a highly formal vacation style, these two ships deserve a closer look.

Explore Norwegian Cruise Line’s 2026–27 itineraries

The pricing conversation: Is $115 per day realistic?

You may see cruise deals promoted from around $115 per day on select South Pacific, New Zealand, and Australia sailings.

That kind of fare can be attractive, but let me be straight with you: cruise pricing changes based on the sailing date, cabin category, taxes, port fees, promotions, and availability. A “from” price is not a guarantee for every departure.

Before booking, compare:

• The total fare, not just the daily rate
• Taxes, fees, and port expenses
• Whether airfare or transfers are included
• Cabin location and category
• Deposit and cancellation terms
• Included beverage, dining, Wi-Fi, or excursion benefits

A quick date correction on Norwegian Spirit

Norwegian Spirit is the ship connected with Norwegian’s Australia and New Zealand plans for this season.

However, Norwegian’s currently published information lists Spirit’s arrival in Sydney for December 12, 2026, rather than November 30. If you have seen a November 30 date elsewhere, it may relate to a different sailing, a repositioning segment, or an itinerary listing that has changed.

That is exactly why we recommend checking the specific voyage number before making flight plans.

What Free at Sea may add

Norwegian’s Free at Sea package remains one of the main selling points for eligible sailings. Depending on the promotion and itinerary, it may include benefits such as:

• Specialty dining
• Beverage package options
• Wi-Fi
• Shore excursion credits
• Additional savings for qualifying guests

Holland America: Oosterdam’s Evolution Refurbishment Moves Earlier

Holland America Line has announced a major schedule change for Oosterdam.

The ship’s planned Evolution transformation is moving five weeks earlier than expected. The refurbishment will take place in Marseille, France, and Oosterdam is expected to return to service with its first post-refit voyage departing October 31, 2027.

The schedule change means several previously published sailings from September 11 through December 9, 2027, have been canceled.

If you are booked on Oosterdam during that period, Holland America says affected guests and travel advisors are being contacted with rebooking options.

New post-refit itineraries to watch

The updated schedule includes five new voyages aboard the reimagined ship:

• October 31, 2027: 10-day Civitavecchia, or Rome, to Trieste
• November 10, 2027: 11-day Trieste to Piraeus, or Athens
• November 21, 2027: 7-day Piraeus to Barcelona
• November 28, 2027: 13-day Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale transatlantic
• December 11, 2027: 11-day Caribbean round trip from Fort Lauderdale

The newly added sailings are expected to go on sale in early October 2026.

That matters because post-refit cruises often attract travelers who want to be among the first guests to experience refreshed public spaces, updated staterooms, and new dining areas.

Travel By Sea promotion: read the details

Another Holland America deal conversation we are watching is the Travel By Sea promotion, which is being promoted with reduced deposits and free crew appreciation.

That may be useful for travelers trying to lower the upfront cost of a Holland America vacation package. But here is the important part: these benefits may be tied to the agency or promotion offering them, rather than being automatic benefits on every Holland America booking.

Ask for the terms in writing, including:

• Deposit amount
• Final payment date
• Whether crew appreciation is fully covered
• Eligible sailing dates
• Cancellation rules
• Whether the promotion can combine with Holland America offers

Princess Cruises: Fall Foliage and a Possible Half Moon Cay Change

Princess Cruises is bringing Sapphire Princess to Boston for its first Canada and New England season.

The 10-day itineraries connect Boston and Québec City, with select sailings visiting destinations such as:

• Charlottetown
• Sydney, Nova Scotia
• Saguenay
• Saint John
• Halifax
• Québec City

Some voyages include an overnight in Québec City, giving you more time to explore the historic streets, cafés, and riverside scenery.

Scheduled Sapphire Princess departures include:

• September 3, 2026
• September 13, 2026
• September 23, 2026
• October 3, 2026
• October 13, 2026

If fall color is your goal, the late-September and October departures may offer your best opportunity. Of course, Mother Nature does not work from a cruise timetable, so peak foliage can vary.

Sun Princess and Half Moon Cay

We are also watching reports of a November Sun Princess itinerary swap involving Half Moon Cay.

Port changes happen for many reasons, including weather, port operations, scheduling, and safety. If Half Moon Cay is important to you, check the exact voyage details before booking: or recheck them after booking.

Do not rely only on an older screenshot or social media post. The official Princess booking record, updated itinerary, and communication from Princess or your travel advisor are the sources that matter.
