If you have been waiting for the right time to book a cruise, today is a big one.
Several major cruise lines are changing offers, launching new planning tools, and opening exciting 2026 and 2027 itineraries. Virgin Voyages has a last-minute rate deadline. Princess Cruises just made a major move into AI trip planning. Holland America is highlighting long, destination-rich voyages. Norwegian Cruise Line is sending Norwegian Jade to Japan, while Royal Caribbean is rolling out a fresh Caribbean savings offer.
And honestly? With so many promotions moving at once, this is exactly when having a travel advisor can save you time, confusion, and money.
Here is the cruise news and deal roundup for Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
1. Virgin Voyages: The $89-Per-Night Deal Ends Today
Virgin Voyages’ current Sail & Save offer ends today, September 29.
Select sailings are advertised from $89 per sailor, per night, making this one of the more aggressive last-minute cruise deals available right now. These rates are generally tied to select voyages and cabin inventory, so the cheapest options may disappear quickly.
Virgin is also promoting a broader Flash Cruise Sale for bookings made through September 30, 2026, with:
- Up to $1,000 in instant savings
- Up to $400 in onboard credit
- Up to 70% off the second sailor on eligible bookings
According to Virgin’s official cruise deals page, the largest instant savings are generally connected to longer sailings and higher cabin categories. Not every booking receives the maximum discount, and the onboard credit may be limited to specific voyages, including select Panama Canal and Los Angeles itineraries.
My advice: If Virgin Voyages is your jam, do not wait until tomorrow to check the $89 rates. The Sail & Save inventory is limited, and “last minute” really does mean last minute here.
2. MSC Cruises: Drinks, Wi-Fi, Credit and Kids Sail Free
MSC Cruises is also making noise with its fall promotion.
Current MSC offers include combinations of:
- Cruise fares from advertised low prices
- Up to $500 in onboard credit
- Kids Sail Free on select sailings
- Drinks and Wi-Fi included or discounted through the correct fare offer
The current U.S. promotional terms I found run into early October, but availability and booking-market rules vary. That means a deal available to a U.S. resident may not be identical to one shown in the United Kingdom or Canada.
Two examples getting attention today include:
- MSC Virtuosa: A four-night British Isles sailing from Southampton, with third-party listings advertising savings of up to 54% and Kids Sail Free
- MSC Seaside: Four-night Caribbean options from Miami
Here’s the thing: A percentage discount shown online may be calculated against a different comparison fare, not necessarily an official fleetwide MSC headline discount. Before you click “book,” check the actual total and confirm whether drinks, Wi-Fi, onboard credit, and children’s fares are included.
Read MSC’s current promotion terms, or let us price the exact sailing for you.

3. Princess Cruises Launches an AI Cruise Planning App
Princess Cruises made major cruise news on September 28 by becoming the first global cruise line to launch a native cruise-planning app inside ChatGPT.
Travelers can install the Princess app and tag @princesscruises to search for cruises using everyday language. The app can help you:
- Search by destination, date, and trip length
- Compare ships and itineraries
- Check current pricing and availability
- Explore ports, shore excursions, cruisetours, and packages
- Refine a vacation plan during the same conversation
For example, you could ask for a seven-night Alaska cruise from Seattle that visits Glacier Bay, then follow up by asking which sailing has the best balcony availability.
That is pretty convenient, especially if you are still testing the waters and do not know which ship or itinerary fits you best. You can read the official Princess announcement for setup instructions.
Princess Plus and Premier Prices Increase October 13
There is another Princess deadline worth noting.
Princess Plus and Princess Premier package prices are scheduled to increase for sailings departing on or after October 13, 2026. The increase is expected to be $5 per person, per day, bringing typical pre-cruise pricing to approximately:
- Princess Plus: $70 per person, per day
- Princess Premier: $105 per person, per day
If you already have a Princess cruise booked, check whether adding or upgrading your package before the deadline could save you money.
Princess is also promoting fall savings that may include:
- Up to $600 in instant savings per stateroom
- Third and fourth guests free on select sailings
- Up to 40% off Alaska cruises
- $99 deposits on select Alaska voyages
- Limited remaining space on 2026 holiday sailings to Hawaii and the Caribbean
Pro Tip: A travel agency can compare the base fare, package cost, deposits, and guest promotions together. The lowest advertised fare is not always the lowest total vacation cost.
4. Holland America: A 28-Night Alaska-to-Hawaii Adventure
Holland America Line continues to attract travelers who want more than a quick getaway.
The line’s Noordam is sailing a remarkable 28-night Alaska-to-Hawaii voyage, combining Alaska, British Columbia, and the Hawaiian Islands in one extended journey. Depending on the sailing version, highlights can include Alaska ports such as Kodiak and Dutch Harbor, followed by Hawaii calls in Honolulu, Maui, and Kauai.
This is the kind of itinerary that gives you time to settle in, enjoy the ship, and experience destinations without feeling rushed. There is no sprinting off the ship, grabbing one photo, and racing back before dinner. You can actually breathe.

Holland America is also moving up the timeline for Oosterdam’s five-week Evolution transformation. The first post-transformation sailing is expected to depart October 31, 2027, with new Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Caribbean voyages expected to open for sale in early October.
Reports have described a Rome-to-Trieste debut routing, but exact details should be confirmed when Holland America loads the voyages into its booking system. Either way, travelers interested in a refreshed Oosterdam should watch closely. New ship launches and post-refurbishment sailings can fill quickly.
5. Norwegian Cruise Line: Jade Heads to Japan
Norwegian Jade is repositioning to Asia after its Alaska season and will begin a major Japan-focused deployment in fall 2026.
The ship’s season includes sailings from Tokyo and Yokohama, with itineraries visiting destinations such as:
- Osaka
- Kyoto
- Kanazawa
- Hakodate
- Aomori
- Hiroshima
- Kochi
- South Korea and other Asian ports
Norwegian’s official Norwegian Jade page lists Japan and Asia itineraries ranging from shorter voyages to longer repositioning cruises.
NCL’s current sale language includes 50% off cruise fares on eligible sailings, along with Free at Sea or More At Sea benefits, depending on the promotion and booking terms. NCL is also advertising discounts for eligible groups, including:
- 10% military discount
- 5% first responder discount
Always ask for these discounts specifically. They may not automatically appear in the first online price you see.
Pride of America Weather Disruption
Pride of America’s Hawaii sailing was delayed to September 28 because of Hurricane Nolo. The cruise was shortened, and affected guests were offered refund and cancellation options.
This is a good reminder that weather can change cruise plans even when everything looked perfect at booking. Travel insurance, flexible flights, and an advisor who can help you understand the cruise line’s communication can make a stressful situation easier to manage.

6. Royal Caribbean: New Kicker Savings and Big Vacation News
Royal Caribbean’s Score More Sale has moved on, but a useful replacement is still available.
The $100 Caribbean and West Coast Kicker applies to qualifying new bookings made through October 12, 2026, for eligible sailings departing through April 30, 2027.
The savings vary by cabin category:
- Up to $25 for interior, oceanview, and balcony staterooms
- Up to $100 for suites
Royal Caribbean’s official promotion terms also show that some offers may combine with other promotions, although every booking must be checked individually.
Royal Caribbean’s new Hero of the Seas is also scheduled to begin Miami sailings in 2027, including Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries with Perfect Day at CocoCay.
One important clarification: I could verify Hero of the Seas’ Miami deployment, but I could not verify a new 2027 Fort Lauderdale deployment for a Royal Caribbean ship called Legend of the Seas. If you see that listing online, ask for the exact ship, sailing date, and official booking confirmation before paying a deposit.
Finally, Royal Caribbean Group has agreed to acquire a 50% stake in Sandals and Beaches Resorts for approximately $3 billion. The deal could eventually create more cruise-and-resort vacation packages across the Caribbean. The FCCA is part of the wider cruise tourism community, but it is not a party to the Sandals transaction itself.
Why Book These Cruise Deals With a Local Agency?
I began cruising on my honeymoon in 2012 aboard Carnival Imagination. I remember stepping onto that ship and realizing how much goes into a cruise vacation beyond simply picking a destination.
Today, at ITS Travel Services in Flushing, Michigan, we help travelers compare ships, cabin categories, flights, hotels, transfers, insurance, and promotions. Big travel websites can show you a price. We help you understand what that price actually includes.
That difference matters when one offer includes Wi-Fi, another includes drinks, and a third gives onboard credit instead of lowering the fare.
If you are looking for the best cruise deals of 2026, Caribbean vacation deals, last-minute travel deals, or a complete vacation package, we would be happy to help you explore your options.
