There’s a lot happening in cruise news today, Monday, October 12-and a few deadlines are close enough to deserve your attention now. Disney has shared a first look at its next ship, Norwegian Aura’s debut has moved up, and some October cruise deals are on the clock.
And honestly? Sorting out which offer is worth your time can feel like a vacation-planning job all by itself. Here’s the friendly neighbor’s guide: the big updates, the offers to check, and the details to confirm before you book.
Disney Believe: Encanto, Frozen, and a booking date to circle
Disney Cruise Line’s new Disney Believe is scheduled to debut on December 18, 2027, sailing from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. The ship is set to offer four- and five-night Caribbean and Bahamas sailings, with visits to Disney’s Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on select itineraries.
The headline attractions are a first-ever stage adaptation of Encanto and a new Frozen-themed dining experience called Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast. There’ll also be a Moana-inspired Grand Hall and plenty of other family-friendly entertainment.
General bookings open October 19, 2026. Disney Cruise Line members and other eligible groups may have earlier booking windows, so check the official Disney announcement for details.
If Disney is your family’s jam, starting early gives you more time to compare sail dates, room types, flights, and pre-cruise hotel stays. A Disney sailing can also be part of larger Disney vacation packages. We can help you look at the whole trip, not just the ship fare.
Norwegian Aura sails earlier, and the onboard credit clock is ticking
Norwegian Cruise Line has moved Norwegian Aura’s debut up by 19 days. The line’s largest ship is now scheduled to begin sailing on May 2, 2027, with two new inaugural Mediterranean itineraries. The first runs from Trieste to Athens and calls at ports including Dubrovnik, Split, Corfu, Santorini, and Mykonos. See NCL’s Aura itinerary announcement.
The current Fall Flash Sale advertises 50% off on eligible bookings made by October 16. There’s an important extra detail, though: the offer for up to $750 in onboard credit per stateroom is advertised only through today, October 12, on eligible Balcony and higher-category bookings. The amount depends on sailing length and cabin category, so not every room gets $750.
Pro Tip: When a deal has multiple deadlines, check each part separately. The fare discount and the onboard credit may not expire on the same day. We can help compare the offer terms with the total fare, cabin, and itinerary before you decide.
Princess: two savings opportunities, and a reported package price change
Princess Cruises’ current promotion advertises up to $600 in instant savings per stateroom for the first two guests, plus free fares for third and fourth guests on select voyages. Book by November 5, 2026, and check the Princess deal page for eligible sailings and restrictions.
There’s also a time-sensitive update for travelers considering Princess Plus or Princess Premier. Cruise-industry reports say those daily package prices are expected to rise by $5 per person, per day, starting October 13. Princess’s published package terms may not yet reflect that reported change, so check the price shown for your exact sailing before you purchase.
Why the rush? If the increase applies to your booking, buying today could preserve the current rate. But these packages are only worthwhile when the included benefits match what you’ll use. Compare drinks, Wi-Fi, dining, and other inclusions against your plans, not just the headline price.
Holland America’s tropical savings, and short Caribbean escapes
Holland America’s Save on Sunshine promotion advertises up to 50% off select tropical cruises to the Caribbean, Mexico, and the Panama Canal. The offer covers Fall 2026–Spring 2027 getaways booked by December 31, subject to eligible sailings and availability. Explore the official promotion.

For a shorter escape, current listings around Miami and Port Canaveral include four-night Bahamas cruises from about $329 and five-night Caribbean sailings from around $439. Treat these as starting-price examples, not guaranteed totals: the fare can depend on date, cabin, occupancy, taxes, and availability.
Virgin Voyages’ current offer combines 70% off the second sailor with instant savings of up to $1,000 on eligible bookings made by November 2. A little fine print matters here: Virgin’s terms describe the second-sailor offer as 35% off each traveler’s base voyage fare, and the maximum instant savings applies only to eligible cabin categories and longer voyages. Read the Virgin Voyages promotion terms before counting on the top advertised amount.
Looking for a bigger ship and a full week away? Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas offers a seven-night Eastern Caribbean and Perfect Day itinerary from Miami, with stops including St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Perfect Day at CocoCay. Check the Royal Caribbean itinerary for sailing dates and current pricing.

Viking Rota joins Europe’s river fleet
For travelers drawn to a slower, more intimate kind of trip, Viking has taken delivery of Viking Rota, a new river ship designed for 190 guests. It’s expected to sail the Rhine, Main, and Danube. An appealing way to explore European cities and scenery without packing and unpacking at every stop.
River cruising is different from a sea-going Mediterranean cruise, but both can suit travelers looking for a more relaxed, upscale experience. If luxury Mediterranean cruises are on your wish list, we can help compare those with river itineraries and other vacation packages.
Before you chase a fare: check what it actually includes
A low starting price can be a great way to test the waters, but it’s not always the full trip cost. Before you book, compare:
- The total price, including taxes and fees
- The cabin category and guest-count assumptions
- What’s included, and what costs extra, onboard
- Port location, flights, transfers, and hotel nights
- The promotion’s booking deadline and eligible sail dates
That last point is easy to miss. A cruise fare may be attractive while flights or a pre-cruise hotel push the total higher. If you’re also looking for affordable international flights or all-inclusive vacation packages, it helps to compare the whole itinerary together.
Pro Tip: A real travel agent can be your backup plan
I remember how overwhelming it can feel to compare ships, room categories, and fine print when you’re new to cruising. Big travel websites can help you browse, but they can’t always give you the same personal help when plans shift.
At ITS Travel Services, we can help you compare options, look for agency-added perks where available, and understand the rules tied to your fare. If a price changes or a schedule is adjusted, you have someone to call. Change fees and price-adjustment options depend on the cruise line and fare rules, so we’ll help you check what applies rather than promise what a supplier may not allow.
From our Michigan community, including travelers around Flushing, we help make the planning feel less like homework and more like the start of your trip. You can also read why booking with a local travel agency can beat booking online.
Want help finding the right cruise deal?
Some of today’s offers have deadlines as soon as October 12 or October 16, while others run into November. The best cruise deals of 2026 depend on your dates, cabin preferences, and what you want included, not just the biggest discount in the headline.
Reach out to ITS Travel Services and tell us what kind of getaway you have in mind. We’d be happy to help you explore or book a cruise package, compare the options, and plan the details around it, no pressure, just a conversation.
